6 Creative Text-Based Logo Designs
Text-based logos, or wordmarks, are the most widely used of all logos. They are often used when advertising funds are limited and when focus is on name recognition. They are known for their limited use, or non-use, of graphical elements other than the text itself. Because wordmarks focus primarily on text and typeface, they can be some of the most difficult designs to create. Text and typeface need to be unique and must be able to convey the message of the product or service being offered.
I have compiled a list of 6 creative text-based logos, all designed by Cleveland-based progressive design firm GoMedia.
Fergie – Pop Music Superstar
Alan Jackson – Country Music Superstar
Korn – American Rock Band

Stone Sour – American Hard Rock Band
DragonForce – English Power Metal Band

Anberlin – Alternative Rock Band
Feel free to mention any others you think should be added to this list in the comments section below.

Hey! What about the superb logo of the world’s greatest rock band- Led Zeppelin? It is widely said that their branding, promotion and the money made alone in the UK and US was even better than the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Great article by the way. I hate all the popish rock and so-called country stuff. I listen to the country classics- The Byrds, Johnny Cash and stuff. The Raising Sand album is great too

Lisa,
Thanks for your valuable input. I agree, the Led Zeppelin logo is great! I had no idea that their branding efforts just in the US and UK alone were better than that of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Thanks for sharing!

If these logos are about a legible wordmark, then most of them fail, in particular the Fergie one since it’s not much more than a blob of colour and completely unintelligebile as a word. I had to read the caption to work out what is was supposed to say. Similarly with Anberlin. The only readable one is Stone Sour.
