The Haribo is a German confectionery company founded by Johannes “Hans” Riegel Sr. in 1920. The company made the very first gummy candy in the form of the world-famous gummy bear. Today, it is one of the largest manufacturers of jelly and gummy sweets all over the world.  Their key brands in the United Kingdom are Supermix, Tangfastics, Maoam and Starmix. They also make Pontefract Cakes and has the Fraise Tagada as one of their best-selling varieties in France. They have built five factories in Germany and opened 13 more throughout the rest of  Europe. They have sales offices in almost all countries in Europe and has already invaded the United States and Australia. The company’s headquarters is presently located at Bonn, north Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

The name Haribo did not come from any other German word. It is actually an acronym: HA-Hans, RI-Riegel, BON-Bonn, Germany. It is known for the uniqueness of the company name. Furthermore, the Haribo logo has been catching the attention of both kids and adults alike for how many decades already.
